The core units you complete will build the key skills needed to deliver training and assessment strategies in both the vocational education and training (VET) sector and the workplace. You will develop specialised skills in designing and facilitating learning programs, delivering training sessions to both individuals and groups, developing assessment tools and unpacking units of competency from national training packages. The electives you complete will depend on the institution you choose to study with.
To enrol in this qualification, you will need to demonstrate competency in your proposed area of teaching and assessing. This is typically defined as having broad industry knowledge and experience and is commonly shown through completion of a relevant qualification.
This course prepares you to perform the role of a trainer, facilitator or assessor in the workplace and in Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). It is the minimum requirement to teach and assess vocational education and training (VET) in Australia.

As a general guide, if you are eligible for a subsidised place, it's likely to cost approximately $2,500. Most TAFEs do offer a concession rate, in which case, you could pay as little as $600.
