There are several privately-run course providers in Australia offering training and qualifications in human resources.

Australian College of Applied Psychology

The Australian College of Applied Psychology is a private college that offers Certificate IV courses through to Master’s degrees in human resource management.

Australian Institute of Public Safety

The Australian Institute of Public Safety is a private training provider that offers a range of options from entry-level training through to university-equivalent degrees.

Recruiting and Consulting Services Association

The Recruiting and Consulting Services Association is a national organisation that sets professional standards and educates and develops the skills of recruitment and employment consultants. Its educational program includes a certificate in recruitment and selection and a Certificate IV in Business (employment services). It also offers HR and OHS modules.

Australian Human Resources Institute

The Australian Human Resource Institute is a national association for HR professionals. It offers a range of educational options, including an introductory HR course, a professional diploma and a graduate diploma. AHRI has also accredited a number of HR courses at various universities for 2004 to 2007.

Thomson Education Direct

Thomson Education Direct is a distance education provider. You can study for Statements of Attainment in Human Resources and Human Resource Management and a Certificate IV in Human Resources.

If you complete a Certificate IV in Human Resources you can apply for credits in the Bachelor of Business offered at James Cook University (QLD) and nominated courses at the University of Technology, Sydney (NSW).

National Safety Council of Australia

The National Safety Council of Australia provides OHS training, consulting and support. They run skills-based training courses for the public, and they also provide courses for formal qualifications such as the OH&S Diploma.
