What's it like to be a Classroom Teacher?
Classroom Teachers educate students by planning, preparing and delivering lessons. They manage classroom activities, assess student progress and provide feedback to help students develop their knowledge and skills. Classroom Teachers work in various educational settings, including primary and secondary schools, special education schools and sometimes in alternative education environments. They often collaborate with other teachers, school staff and parents to support student learning and wellbeing.
Tasks and duties
- Planning and preparing lesson plans in accordance with curriculum standards.
- Delivering lessons and facilitating classroom discussions and activities.
- Assessing and grading students' work, including assignments, tests and exams.
- Providing feedback and support to help students improve their skills and knowledge.
- Creating a positive learning environment.
- Communicating with parents and guardians about students' progress.
