What's it like to be a Hospital Pharmacist?
Hospital Pharmacists dispense medications in hospitals. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure the safe and effective use of medication and offer advice on drug interactions and side effects. Hospital Pharmacists may also review a patient's medication as part of post-discharge care and take part in ward rounds.
Tasks and duties
- Dispensing medications to patients.
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting medications as necessary.
- Providing advice on drug interactions, side effects and proper medication usage.
- Collaborating with Doctors, Nurses and other healthcare staff to optimise patient care.
- Conducting medication therapy management and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
