- Situation – In my previous role as a Project Manager, I was responsible for leading projects with varying requirements and team dynamics.
- Task – I needed to select and implement the most appropriate project management methodology for each project.
- Action – I utilised Agile methodology for projects that required flexibility and frequent stakeholder feedback, such as software development projects. For projects with well-defined requirements and timelines, like infrastructure upgrades, I applied the Waterfall methodology.
- Result – My approach allowed for the successful completion of over 30 projects, with Agile projects enhancing product adaptability to market changes and Waterfall projects being delivered on time and within budget. My preference leans towards Agile for its flexibility and stakeholder engagement, though I value Waterfall’s structured approach for certain project types.

- Task – My task was to manage these change requests without derailing the project's timeline or budget.
- Action – I initiated a change control process, starting with a thorough assessment of the proposed changes' impact on the project scope, timeline and budget. I then presented these findings to all stakeholders, outlining the necessary adjustments to the project plan, resources and budget to accommodate the changes. I also negotiated with the stakeholder to prioritise the changes, aligning them with the project's core objectives and available resources.
- Result – Through this structured approach, we were able to incorporate the most critical changes without significantly impacting the project timeline or budget. The project was successfully completed, meeting the revised objectives to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. This experience highlighted the importance of having a flexible yet disciplined approach to project management and the ability to navigate stakeholder dynamics effectively.
