What's it like to be a Therapy Assistant?
Therapy Assistants support allied health professionals in providing care to patients. They assist with treatment plans, help patients with exercises and maintain therapy equipment. This role often involves working in hospitals, clinics or rehabilitation centres. Therapy Assistants also document patient progress and ensure a clean and safe environment for therapy sessions.Tasks and duties
- Assisting with the implementation of treatment plans under the guidance of allied health professionals.
- Helping patients with therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Setting up, maintaining and cleaning therapy equipment.
- Documenting patient progress and responses to treatments.
- Supporting patients during therapy sessions to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Communicating with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and updates.
