Our Terms and Conditions

1. The 2024 SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards

  1. The 2024 SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards (the Awards) are conducted by SEEK Limited (ACN 080 075 314) (SEEK).

  2. Information and instructions on how to participate in the Awards form part of these Terms and Conditions relating to the Awards (Terms and Conditions). If you enter the Awards, you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions and warranted that you are eligible to enter the Awards and meet the requirements of the relevant categories that you have entered. 

  3. The Terms and Conditions will be published on https://www.seek.com.au/sara throughout the duration of the Awards.

  4. Subject to paragraph e) below, the Awards will recognise activities and achievements executed in the period of 1 May 2023 to 1 May 2024 . All submissions must relate to this period only.

  5. For the new category ‘New Agency of the Year’, the Awards will recognise activities and achievements executed in the period of 1 May 2022 to 1 May 2024. All submissions for this category must relate to this period only.

2. Eligibility

  1. To be eligible to enter the Awards, participants must meet the requirements below. SEEK reserves the right to change the eligibility criteria, and determine whether an entrant is eligible, in its absolute discretion.

  2. Participants must be an organisation or professional whose core business and/or responsibilities are the recruitment and appointment of candidates to roles within client organisations.

  3. Participants must have (or be employed by a relevant organisation that has) a registered Australian Business Number.

  4. Organisations can be private companies, publicly listed companies, multi-national subsidiaries, non-government organisations, franchise systems or partnerships. 

  5. Organisations must have been operating in Australia for a minimum of 12 months prior to 1 May 2024.

  6. Subsidiaries of parent companies (or different brands within a group company) are eligible to enter the Awards, even if their parent company or another group company (or brand) also chooses to enter,provided that they:

    • only reflect the activities and achievements of the relevant subsidiary (or brand) in their submissions, not the parent company or other group companies (or brands); and

    • ensure any classification of their subsidiary (or brand) in terms of employee size reflects all employees that work for that subsidiary (or on that brand, including support staff.

3. Award categories

  1. The award categories for the Awards are listed below. SEEK reserves the right to change the award categories, or not award categories, in its absolute discretion.

  • Recruitment Agency of the Year. This category is open to all recruitment agencies, with Awards to be presented in three classifications:

    • Small Recruitment Agency of the Year (1-10 full time Consultants);

    • Medium Recruitment Agency of the Year (11-80 full time Consultants); and

    • Large Recruitment Agency of the Year (81+ full time Consultants).

  • Recruitment Process Outsourcing Agency of the Year. This award is open to all recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) agencies.

  • Excellence in Candidate Experience. This category is open to all recruitment agencies and RPO agencies.

  • Outstanding Progress in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This category is open to all recruitment agencies and RPO agencies.

  • Recruitment Leader of the Year. This category is open to all individual recruitment consultants currently employed by an Australian recruitment agency who are in a management or leadership role within their agency, this is not open to group entries.

  • Recruitment Consultant of the Year. This category is open to all individual recruitment consultants currently employed by a recruitment agency.

  •  New Agency of the Year. This category is open to all recruitment agencies that have been in operation between 1-2 years from the date the Awards open. Entrants will be asked to validate this requirement and failure to do so may result in disqualification.

4. How to enter the Awards

  1. To enter the Awards, participants must follow the steps below.

  2. Entry for the Awards opens at 9.00am AEST on Monday 1 May 2024 and closes at 11.59pm AEST on Sunday 30 June 2024. No entries will be accepted after this time.

  3. Participants must register via the online submission form at https://www.seek.com.au/sara, including enter their company and contact details, complete the application and provide material to support the application, within the valid entry period.

  4. Participants may enter multiple Awards categories, provided that they only submit one entry per each Award category and a registration form must be completed for each submission that answers the criteria for the relevant category. However:

    • If submitting an entry to the New Agency of the Year Award category, participants must not also submit an entry to the Recruitment Agency of the Year Award category.

    • If submitting an entry to the Recruitment Leader of the Year or Recruitment Consultant of the Year Award categories, participants may submit entries on behalf of multiple nominated individuals but may only submit one entry for either category for each nominated individual

  5. By entering the Awards, each participant acknowledges that:

    • each of their submissions is true, accurate, complete and original work;

    • any intellectual property rights arising in connection with that entry rests with the participant; and

    • none of their submissions interfere with any third-party rights.

5. Judging and managing submissions

  1. It is proposed that the 2024 Awards finalists will be announced on Tuesday 8 October 2024.

  2. It is proposed that the 2024 Awards winners will be announced on Thursday 21 November 2024, at an invite-only Awards ceremony in Melbourne. It is expected that a senior representative from all companies who are 2024 Awards finalists attend the Awards ceremony.

  3. The winners of each awards category in the Awards will be determined by a panel of expert judges appointed by SEEK in its absolute discretion. Each of these expert judges will have a background and experience in recruitment and/or business (or other industries deemed appropriate by SEEK).This is a game of skill only. There is no element of chance in determining the winners.

  4. Judges have complete discretion in assessing submissions, including applying the judging criteria and these Terms and Conditions to the submissions and determining finalists and winners. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into in relation to their decisions.

  5. SEEK and the judges reserve the right not to allocate finalists or a winner in a particular category of the Awards and/or to decline a submission or to disqualify a participant at their absolute discretion. 

  6. You acknowledge that SEEK may engage third parties to assist with the Awards, including but not limited to managing and judging submissions. By submitting an entry into the Awards, you consent to any information provided in your submission or in connection with the Awards being shared with such third parties for the purpose of managing and/or judging your submission or otherwise assisting with the Awards.

6. General

  1. As part of your participation in the Awards we collect personal information relating to you and your business. We may share this information with our related entities or other third party service providers engaged to help us with the Awards (who may be in different Australian states and territories or outside Australia). By participating in the Awards, you consent to the collection, disclosure and use of your personal information to administer the Awards, send you marketing and improve our and our related entities’ products and services. All participant personal information will be collected and dealt with in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and as per SEEK’s privacy policy, which can be viewed in full at https://www.seek.com.au/privacy/.

  2. SEEK, its employees, agents, directors, officers and affiliates and the Awards judges do not accept any liability, however arising, including liability for negligence, for any accident, loss, injury or damage arising directly or indirectly at any time out of, or in connection with, the Awards, except for any liability that cannot, by law, be excluded.

  3. SEEK reserves the right in its absolute discretion to alter any dates associated with the Awards, including the dates within which participants can enter the Awards, the dates for the announcement of the Awards finalists and winners and the date of the Awards ceremony. SEEK may also cancel the Awards or the Awards ceremony, or change the format of the Awards ceremony (including by making it hybrid or virtual), in its absolute discretion. 

  4. Awards finalists will be entitled to use the Awards’ Finalist 2024 logo on their website and marketing materials for 24 months from the date of the Awards ceremony, in the form provided by SEEK and subject to any additional terms of use advised by SEEK. No other person has any right to use any SEEK logo or Awards logo.

  5. Any misuse or altering of the SEEK logo or the Awards logo is not permitted. SEEK reserves the right in its absolute discretion to withdraw the right to use the Awards logo with immediate effect at any time if these conditions are not met or for any other reason.

  6. Participants acknowledge that they may be required for media interviews and/or presentations in respect of their submission, and agree to take all reasonable steps to be available for and actively participate in such media interviews and/or presentations.

  7. SEEK reserves the right to place photos, videos and/or other media taken at the Awards ceremony or in connection with the Awards on the Awards microsite, the SEEK website and other SEEK marketing, social and media channels, and utilise such photos, videos and other media in media outreach to secure media coverage of the Awards, the Awards ceremony and Awards finalists and winners. By providing any logos, photos or other media to SEEK in connection with your entry or the Awards, you permit SEEK to use such media for the same purposes (and warrant that you have the right to grant such permission).

  8. By submitting an entry into the Awards, you consent to receive promotional and marketing messages from SEEK. Entrants will be able to opt-out or unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions included in each marketing message sent by SEEK or by contacting SEEK directly.

  9. SEEK may choose to publish submissions wholly or in part, as case studies or for publicity purposes. Permission from participants (not to be unreasonably withheld) will be sought prior to publication and commercially sensitive information will be excluded.

  10. SEEK in its absolute discretion may provide prizes to winners of the Awards. SEEK reserves the right to withdraw a prize if there are no eligible entrants to receive that prize or to supply an alternative prize if a prize is unavailable. By accepting a prize, you agree to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable marketing activities relating to the prize including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. We reserve the right to use your comments, image and name for advertising and publicity purposes in any media in perpetuity without further consultation or compensation. Prizes awarded cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. All other expenses associated with the prizes are the responsibility of the winners.

  11. SEEK reserves the right to alter these Terms and Conditions at any point. Participants in the Awards will be notified of any material amendments prior to the close of the Awards entry period.
