Student review
I loved the variety of subjects and the fieldwork/field trips. I greatly appreciated several the professors we worked with and the opportunity to perform lab work, outdoor surveying and data analysis. My first year study experience was excellent, going to South Africa & Cape Conran. I struggled throughout parts of the 2nd and 3rd year with motivation due to covid and having to do all classes online and not interact as much with others or leave the house. The professors did the best they could to adapt the programs to online content, but the challenges throughout that period made the end of 3rd year especially difficult to complete to a high standard. I was thrilled to be able to find a placement in my last year and also learn valuable tools to create a professional resume/cover letter for job applications post-uni.

Overall the staff were some of the most impressive people I have had the pleasure of meeting. They have experience but more importantly can convey this experience to any level of student.
You certainly get out what you put in and the potential to achieve as highly as you are able is not limited by the facilities or teaching staff.

I really enjoyed my course and I'm very happy I chose to complete it at Deakin University. Deakin has really amazing lecturers and I had a few who were so passionate and highly qualified in their respective fields, that it made me interested in areas I wasn't focused on initially. I also loved the campus and facilities- which was especially important with all the practical labs we had to complete. The field work involved in my course was fantastic and a wonderful experience overall. I would highly recommend this course to any environmental enthusiast's or animal lovers.
