As much as working in aid is admirable and desirable, no work place is beyond treating their staff within the legal framework of Australian industrial relations, and World Vision seems to think it's exempt from following workplace laws when it comes to ensuring the work place is safe.
The good thingsThe content of the work at World Vision has the potential to be excellent, but the leadership and toxic culture make World Vision a really problematic place to work.
The challengesThere is a toxic culture at World Vision with a string of people who leave as they are not treated legally or respectfully.

An inspiring workplace that combines purpose and passion with opportunities for professional growth, despite the complexities of global operations.
The good thingsWhat I enjoyed most about working at World Vision Australia is the organization’s strong commitment to its mission and values. Collaborating with a team that genuinely cares about making a difference globally is both inspiring and fulfilling. The supportive work environment, opportunities for personal and professional growth, and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects are truly rewarding.
The challengesOne of the challenges I found was adapting to the complexity of processes due to the global scale of operations. Navigating cross-departmental collaboration can be intricate, especially when balancing differing priorities. However, these challenges have helped me grow in my role and improve my problem-solving and communication skills.

Very welcoming, engaging workplace with plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth!
The good thingsWorld Vision really cares about their workers, and provides plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth. It is a warm, engaging atmosphere to work within and though of course there are challenges, there is always someone to offer support. I feel very lucky to be here.
The challengesThere are teething problems with new systems and how departments work alongside each other. But there is a strong foundation in the company, and I know these things will be ironed out with time and good people.
