Avoid this place, your mental health will thank you for it
The good thingsThe people on the ground level doing the work are all so passionate and great to talk to.
The challengesThe culture is incredibly toxic and unsupportive. Seniors talk poorly about Health Promotion Officers (HPOs) behind their backs, they overstep their roles and micromanage the HPOs, they criticise HPOs on their work but don’t support or give guidance to the HPOs. Any initiative is shut down, and “the way we’ve always done it” is the preferred way. Anyone who speaks up becomes a problem. The manager isn’t able to manage the behaviour and uses excuses to protect the seniors. There are no consequences for poor behaviour by seniors. No one is being held accountable for a high turnover rate even though complaints have been made. People are scared to raise issues due to backlash and knowing nothing changes. Unsure why the CEO hasn’t stepped in by now. The pay is also so average, there is much better out there! Surprised my soul returned after leaving this place.

Learnt lots and was able to grow in my career.
The good thingsGreat team to work with, with brand new facilities in Newington for clinics and office work. I really enjoyed being around colleagues passionate about their role.
The challengesThey provide lots of free staff parking which is great but it was a long commute when I had to use public transport from where I live.

Rewarding work outcomes in an important area however not worth the daily blocks and management issues.
The good thingsGreat work related issue
The challengesExecutive and upper Management use archaic management methods, have little trust in employees, micro-manage and are extremely risk adverse. This culture led to the discontinuation of an extremely important project within a 2 year period despite being extremely successful and still continuing in Victoria. If you enjoy extending your skills, using your experience to create positive change and thrive on integrated workplaces, this place is not for you.
