Avoid! Look elsewhere...
The good thingsReasonable pay rate. Flexible work arrangement.
The challengesMicromanagement issues. Individuals are protected based on who you know.
Higher management and some team leaders have limited clinical experience. Inadequate support provided to clinicians in complex cases.
Unrealistic KPIs. Clinicians are given guidance on face-to-face contact and documentation time and advised that additional time is permitted for complex cases. However, after client is billed, the clinician is questioned on excessive time spent on complex clients.
Beware: Nil formal manual handling procedure in place.
Trainers have good theoretical knowledge and basic manual handling skills. Trainers do not provide support in home setting for complex clients. The trainer provides education to the Care Partner (non-clinician) in an office setting and expects Care Partner to train family/care staff to use the hoist.
During orientation, trainer did not know how to safely reposition 'client' and insert a sling behind 'client' who had slid forward to the edge of the seat.

The good thingsWorking with the most amazing nurses who give 100% to their clients every day despite the constant competing demands of the job. The nursing team put their clients at the heart of everything they do.
The challengesThe current IT system is slowly being phased out for a new purpose built system that will better deal with healthcare into the future. This transition period can be frustrating.
