I would not recommend this place to anyone. Underpaid, underappreciated, and lack of respect shown to nurses and staffing in general. The good thingsMost of the nursing team were lovely on the ward, theatre and recovery. They provide complimentary morning and afternoon tea for all staff.
The challengesMany different surgeons with different preferences and with them being an asset to the hospital by paying to have their patients go there, they get away with horrific behaviour towards all nurses. Compared to public practice, everything is sped up in a manner that is not always safe. In a private hospital, I expected their level of care to be much higher! I was surprised to see this hospitals practice in comparison to public, where it is obvious patients get higher quality care from start to finish at public hospital.
The Anaesthetists push clients through, and dump them as soon as they can. The tremendous pressure it puts on all recovery nurses, and their attempts to leave the hospital as soon as they can by any means that is not in the patients favour.
